CUMC Bread Ministry
Every week dedicated volunteers from Chatham UMC pick up breads, pastries, bagels, cookies, and muffins from Panera Bread Company in Florham Park to use for those in need.
Our local neighbors are hungry and need support. We make wonderful strides in outreach with food drives of non-perishable items, yet there are so many additional neighbors we can reach immediately with foods that will only go to waste if it is not used. There is an abundance of prepared food in our area that needs to be given to those that need it. This awareness gave creation to CUMC’s bread ministry.
Panera Bread Company in Florham Park agreed to partner with Chatham UMC by giving us all of the product that they have not sold during the day so that CUMC may use the pastries. Many of these pastries are frozen and then given away as an expression of love as part of CUMC’s Wednesday Food Distribution. Other pastries are served at Chatham UMC on Sunday morning as part of our refreshments in Rodda Hall after each Sunday Worship Service.
The bread ministry family is always in need of new disciples.
